Analytical Resource Labs Announces New PFAS Testing Service
Analytical Resource Labs (ARL), a leading provider of analytical testing services, today announced the launch of its new PFAS testing service.
PFAS or Per- and Poly- fluoroalkyl substances, are a large group of man-made chemicals used in various industrial processes. Due to their widespread use, PFAS are now found in many environments and research is ongoing to understand their potential health impacts. ARL's new PFAS testing service offers a targeted analysis of four key analytes:
- PFOS (perfluorooctanesulfonic acid)
- PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid)
- PFNA (perfluorononanoic acid)
- PFHxS (perfluorohexanesulfonic acid
Important features of ARL's PFAS testing service include:
• Compliance with Prop 65: PFOS, PFOA, and PFNA are listed on California's Proposition 65, which requires businesses to warn consumers about exposures to certain chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects.
• Sensitive and reliable method: ARL utilizes a state-of-the-art solid phase extraction (SPE) technique coupled with LC-MS/MS (triple quad) analysis. This method offers a minimum detection limit (MDL) of 3 ppb, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
• Current capabilities: ARL's initial focus is on testing supplements and drinking water.
• Future expansion plans: ARL is committed to continuous improvement, and plans to expand its PFAS testing capabilities to include a wider range of sample matrices and additional PFAS analytes.
